    There are two different classes held for children from 3-9 years old that meet during both St Matt's@9 and the 10.30am service, while their parents are in church. Each group explores bible stories through drama, craft, games and activities.

    The Anglican Church was first invited to establish a church in Addis Ababa in the early 1920’s. From small beginnings in the compound of the British Legation, the congregation grew and moved to larger premises, first in a hotel and then in a school. Finally St Matthew’s Church was built in 1954 on land given by Emperor Haile Selassie. Today St Matthew’s Church provides Anglican worship and ministry to a very diverse international community.

    The Breakfast Club was started in May 2007 to serve the needs of the disadvantaged children in our neighbourhood. The Church Council works with the local Kebele to identify children who are most in need and would benefit from this program.
